UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) has released new guidelines to its decision makers on how to grant asylum application by members of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Movement for the Actualization of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) who are being persecuted.
In reacting to the development, the apex Igbo socio-cultural group, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has said that the UK’s Asylum Visa to members of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) and Movement for the Actualisation of the Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSOB) has put to rest the sponsored falsehood and violence against Biafrans.
The Igbo socio cultural group described the news as the genuineness of the International community. Also, the Ohanaeze Ndigbo Worldwide described the news as the “genuineness to change the ugly narratives of Nigeria Federal authorities to suppress the South easterners and unjustly spread falsehoods of nonviolent agitators as being terrorist groups while the main terrorist groups in Nigeria are being pampered the Federal authorities”.
Still reacting to the development, the press statement by Ohanaeze which was signed by Okechukwu Isiguzoro reads thus:
“We call on all foreign missions in Nigeria to extend such gestures to all freedom fighters and proponents of self-determination groups in the country, as it will help to end reckless (state) sponsored violence against Biafra agitators".
