One of the legacies upheld by our ancestors is the "Sanctity of Life". We respect life of Fellow human beings so much so that we are known for sacrificing our lives in order to redeem other people's life.
During the pogrom of 1966 in Northern Nigeria, our people that survived the barbaric act were rehabilitated and even taken care of by those who were living in Biafra land as most of them lost all their belonging while trying to save their lives.
There was no record of any stranger killed in our land as reprisal attack, instead the then Governors of Eastern Region Lt. Col. Chukwuemeka Ojukwu through his government, brought out vehicles that safely took those strangers back to their region.
The same strangers got to their Region safely and joined their brethren to massacre the remaining Biafrans who decided to remain in those regions. This is part of the ugly side of Nigeria history, which they wanted to hide by removing history from the education curriculum, but we are here to present that history to humanity as it is.
Our fathers and mothers of 1966 generation, having the sanctity of life in mind, needed just a nation where their lives and that of their children could be preserved, that was the rational for the declaration of the Sovereign state of Biafra on 30th of May 1967.
The sanctity of life reflects so much in Igbo Biafra Philosophy;
Ndu bu isi: - Life is Supreme
Ndu bu eze: - Life is king
Ndu ka aku: - Life is greater than money.
Chi nwe ndu: - Life belongs to God.
I can go on and on. They not only believed, they acted it. When the vandals came with their soldiers to totally annihilate our people, our fathers and mothers stood on our behalf, and fought gallantly, ill equipped, they confronted the British, French, German, Russian well-equipped Nigerian soldiers. They fought and held on for three good years.
We as the children of those brave men and women, with the Sanctity of Life engraved in our DNA, we have no other option than to preserve our lives and lives of future Biafrans. We need to handover a free state of Biafra to our children, if not, then we may have lived our lives in vain. That is how serious it is.
Nigeria has expired since 2013. We don't need to beg anyone for this freedom. "Freedom is taken not given" We have to fight for it. If you want peace, prepare for war. The only thing that will avert arm struggle, is Nigeria honouring of the Geneva convention and allowing a plebiscite for Biafra Exit from the British contraption.
Nigeria government capitalising on their military and British support is actually making an open invitation to war by committing an international crime against the leader of IPOB and illegally detaining him after he was discharged and acquitted by Nigeria Appeal Court.
This generation of Biafrans have one supreme task; Restoration of Sovereign state of Biafra. Our Mantra is "Biafra or Death"
